River progressed with his show career, with limited showing. He also established a firm grounding in introductory field work, as his love of retrieving and water work followed his father's abilities. He loved working with Trevor and enjoyed showing. He exhibited good breed type and had an excellent coat. He won 2 PUPPY IN GROUP awards as well as in the 2008 National Advance Pointscore Competition, was NATIONAL BREED LEADER for ALL BREEDS and BEST OF BREED Competitions and RISING STAR. River gained the last points for his AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP Show Title on 18.1.09. He was awarded BEST OF BREED at Queensland Royal Show, 2009. He enjoyed retrieving with Trevor in later life. He is lovingly remembered.
